The Tū Kahikatea Programme in association with Te Puni Kokiri,  Ministry of Māori Development empowers rangatahi Māori to achieve their professional goals in the workplace, whilst highlighting the mana of connection to their identity, their whānau, hapū and iwi.

The candidate will receive a full-time permanent role for at least 6 months along with professional development workshops and support before and during the Tū Kahikatea Programme

To be eligible for the Tū Kahikatea Programme you must be:

  • Of Māori descent

  • Available to fully commit and engage for the whole kaupapa​

  • Available to work full time for at least 6 months​

  • A New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Resident

A successful TupuToa applicant, is expected to:

  • Understand and comply with their employment agreement

  • Meet face to face with a TupuToa Navigator

  • Participate consistently in all TupuToa workshops and events

  • Contribute to the development of the wider TupuToa community; and

  • Become a role model for younger Māori and Pacific students.
